Whole-Home Standby Generators. Always On When the Grid Isn't.

South Florida's storm season doesn't send advance notice. When the power goes out, your home shouldn't go dark. Qrown Design Build installs whole-home standby generators that activate automatically within seconds of an outage — keeping your lights, AC, refrigeration, medical equipment, and security systems running without interruption.

As a licensed General Contractor, we handle every phase: site evaluation, equipment selection, concrete pad installation, gas line coordination, electrical transfer switch integration, permitting, and final inspection. One team. One contract. Complete backup power.

What We Install

Whole-Home Standby

Permanently installed units (14kW–150kW+) that power your entire home or building automatically. Connected to natural gas or propane for unlimited runtime during extended outages.

Partial-Home / Essential Circuits

Right-sized generators wired to your most critical circuits — AC, refrigerator, well pump, medical equipment — at a lower cost than whole-home coverage.

Commercial Standby

Backup power for offices, retail, and mixed-use properties. We coordinate with your electrician and utility provider to ensure code-compliant installation and seamless transfer.

How It Works

1

Site Evaluation

Assess your home's electrical load, fuel source availability, and placement options to determine the right generator size and location.

2

Equipment Selection

Recommend a generator matched to your needs and budget. We work with Kohler and other top-tier manufacturers with proven South Florida track records.

3

Permitting

Pull all required building and electrical permits. Generator installations in Florida require permits — we handle the entire process.

4

Frequently Asked Questions

A standby generator is permanently installed, connects directly to your electrical panel, and starts automatically within seconds of an outage. Portable generators require manual setup, refueling, and can only power a limited number of items via extension cords. Standby generators are safer, more reliable, and significantly more convenient.

It depends on your home's electrical load. A typical South Florida home with central AC needs a minimum 14–20kW unit for whole-home coverage. We perform a detailed load calculation to recommend the right size — oversizing wastes money, undersizing leaves you exposed.

Yes. Generator installations require building and electrical permits in all Florida jurisdictions. The concrete pad, gas line, and electrical connections are all inspectable items. We handle all permitting and scheduling of inspections.

Most residential standby generators run on natural gas (if available at your property) or liquid propane (LP). Natural gas provides unlimited fuel supply during outages since it's piped in. Propane requires a storage tank but is available anywhere. We'll evaluate your options during the site assessment.

With natural gas, indefinitely — as long as the gas supply is active. With propane, runtime depends on tank size and load, but a properly sized tank can run a home generator for days to weeks. We'll spec the right propane tank size based on your expected outage duration needs.
